Report: Serie A star’s price tag is not a problem for Tottenham this summer

According to Friday’s print edition of Tuttosport (as relayed by Sport Witness) while Juventus find Genoa’s valuation of Albert Gudmundsson to be quite high, Tottenham would have no issues meeting the asking price.

The report says that Gudmundsson has been on Juve’s radar for many months, with the Serie A giants thought to be ‘serious’ about their pursuit of the versatile attacker.

However, it is asserted that Tottenham are a ‘bogeyman’ from the Premier League and the Turin club must keep an eye on them in the race for the 26-year-old.

Gudmundsson price tag is not an issue for Spurs

TuttoSport say that with Gudmundsson’s current deal running until 2027, Genoa want €35m (£30m) for their talisman this summer.

It is explained that while Bianconeri consider this figure to be ‘too high’, it will ‘not be a problem at all’ for Tottenham to meet the valuation.

However, the publication asserts that Massimiliano Allegri’s side have not lost hope of beating the Lilywhites to the player’s signature.

The report adds that while Spurs have ‘tested the waters’, they have not made a concrete move for Gudmundsson yet while the Serie A giants have already spoken to the player’s representatives.

Spurs Web Opinion

Various Italian outlets are reporting contradictory information on whether it is Juventus or Inter Milan who are expected to be Tottenham’s main competitors for Gudmundsson.

Additionally, while some reports have suggested that the 26-year-old would prefer to remain in Italy, others have said that he wants a Premier League move. So there is not much clarity with respect to the Genoa star’s future at the moment.
