The print edition of AS (as relayed by Sport Witness) have revealed that many at Sevilla are quite pleased that they managed to beat Tottenham to the signing of Idumbo Muzambo, with the youngster having impressed everyone since his switch to the club.
Muzambo who had caught the eye with his performances for Ajax’s youth sides, was quite highly sought after in January, with a whole host of different outlets reporting that Tottenham were keen on securing the deal for the teenager (La Derniere Heure).
However, in the end, it was Sevilla who won the race for the 18-year-old and AS now shed light on the feeling at the Andalusian club about the youngster.

They point out that although Spurs showed interest in the youngster, the La Liga side were able to seal a deal worth €300,000 plus bonuses for Ajax.
The publication says that Quique Sanchez Flores is delighted that his side was able to beat the Premier League club to sign Muzambo.
The versatile attacker has already scored twice in four matches for Sevilla’s Under-21 side and has been named on the bench on three occasions by Flores.
Spurs Web Opinion
Johan Lange has been quite clear about Tottenham’s ambition of being the most attractive destination for budding young talent from across the world.
However, the issue that Spurs will face is that some youngsters will perhaps feel that it is better to have a stepping stone at a slightly lower level so that they give themselves the best chance of breaking into the first team, which is what Muzambo seemingly did by choosing Sevilla.
