Despite reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, the idea of Harry Kane returning to England this summer has been branded as ‘stupid’ by sources in Germany.
Kane left England behind last summer when he made the big-money move to Bayern Munich, in a deal worth a reported £86.4m (Mirror).
While his new club have struggled compared to their usually immaculate standards, with Munich ten points off the top of the Bundesliga currently, Kane himself has excelled.
The 30-year-old has bagged 31 goals and registered a further eight assists this term (Transfermarkt).
But with Kane set for yet another season without a trophy, his decision to leave Spurs has now been questioned, and the prospect of a return to the Premier League has been mooted.
Tottenham are known to have a buy-back clause in their agreement with Bayern, that would allow them first refusal if Kane were to move back to England.
However, both Manchester United (Manchester Evening News) and Chelsea (BBC Sport) are known to be monitoring the situation.

Is Harry Kane coming back to the Premier League?
Now, TEAMtalk have offered some insight into the situation, and reveal that, while Kane would be open to a Premier League switch, it is considered highly unlikely. For now, at least.
The idea has been played down as “stupid news” by sources in Germany, but the chances of a move in 2025 are “unknown” at the moment.
Bayern are known to be happy with Kane’s impact this season, and would only consider selling him if they could make a profit on what they paid last year.
Spurs Web Opinion
No club is going to pay more for Kane now than Bayern did last summer, and I don’t think the player himself would actually want to admit defeat and come back to England with his tail between his legs. At least not until he wins something out there.
