Report sheds light on Tottenham’s big plans for the summer window

Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to back Ange Postecoglou in a major way during the summer transfer window and are prepared to give the Aussie coach the resources he needs to close the gap with the best teams in the Premier League.

Tottenham were the biggest spenders in the English top-flight during the January window (The Athletic), with the club bringing in Timo Werner, Radu Dragusin and Lucas Bergvall through the door, with the Swedish starlet set to link up with the squad ahead of next season.

While other Premier League clubs were unable to sign the players they wanted due to concerns over falling foul of the Profit and Sustainability rules, Spurs had no such concerns, having operating within their means for years.

Expect the same in the summer from Tottenham

Football Insider have now said that far from resting on their laurels, the Lilywhites will once again be one of the busiest clubs during the summer window.

The outlet claims that they have been told by a well-placed source that Spurs plan to back Postecoglou ‘hugely’ when the transfer window reopens in June.

The publication adds that amidst speculation linking their head coach with the Liverpool job, the North London club want to show the 58-year-old that they are prepared to give him the resources he needs to take the side to the next level.

Football Insider assert that at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist for the summer is a new striker who can fill the void left by Harry Kane.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham are certainly in a strong position to capitalise, now that the Premier League are strictly imposing the PSR rules. Transfer fees across Europe will likely deflate and Spurs will be able to go toe-to-toe with almost any side financially.

Being in the Champions League will certainly be of huge help to the Lilywhites in being able to convince top players to pick them over other English sides.
