Report sheds light on why Kane previously failed to report for training

The Sun have claimed that Harry Kane was initially given permission to take an extended holiday by Tottenham but the club decided to change their mind.

Kane reportedly failed to show up to training when he was expected to August 2 in an alleged attempt to force a move to Manchester City.

The Tottenham star received widespread criticism for his actions which certainly damaged his relationship with some sections of the Spurs fanbase.

However, the striker subseqently denied allegations that he refused to train, adding that he was hurt to see his professionalism being questioned.

The Sun have now shed light into why the England captian did not turn up at Hotspur Way when he was supposed to.

They reveal that Kane believes he had permission from Daniel Levy to take an extra week’s holiday after spending time in the Bahamas and Florida.

However, just two days into his stay, the striker was allegedly informed that new boss Nuno Espirito Santo wanted him back for pre-season training.

The Daily Mail have also touched on the topic of Kane’s no-show and claim that the striker’s extended holiday was the result of ‘a breakdown in communication’.

If it was just a case of a breakdown in communication, surely either the club or Kane himself should have clarified it. Perhaps, the 28-yar-old has decided to stay quiet in order to avoid damaging his relationship with the club any further and putting his move to Manchester City in jeopardy.
