Report: Should Spurs use Eriksen to tempt Coutinho to sign?

The curious case of Christian Eriksen. Spurs’ Danish talisman has been a pivotal fixture at the club for many years now, but with just one year left on his contract, will Tottenham be forced to part ways with him?

If Eriksen refuses to sign a new contract, Spurs will have to sell him this summer or risk losing him for nothing when his deal runs out.

The ideal scenario would be for Spurs to offer him a new bumper contract and sign him up for another five years, but what if that isn’t possible?

HITC have suggested that Spurs should use Barcelona’s reported interested (Mundo Deportivo) in Eriksen to secure a swap deal for Coutinho.

The Brazilian hasn’t hit the ground running in Spain, and his admiration for Pochettino could be enough to convince him to come back to the Prem if Barca were to bid for Eriksen.

Coutinho told The Mail in 2015: “Mauricio Pochettino, who was the manager there at the time, gave me a lot of confidence. He always encouraged me to play and show my skills. And he told me to enjoy it.”

A good deal, assuming that Eriksen would be leaving either way?
