Report: Signing 24-year-old and a striker are Tottenham’s top transfer priorities

Tottenham Hotspur will make the signings of Morgan Gibbs-White and a new striker their top priorities this summer, according to sources at Football Insider.

There may be ten games left of the Premier League season, but Tottenham are not wasting any time in lining up their transfer targets for the summer.

With a number of positions still requiring further depth or an upgrade, Ange Postecoglou is expected to be a busy man again in the next transfer window.

One name that keeps resurfacing when it comes to Tottenham’s plans is Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White. It has already been suggested by Football Insider that Spurs are in ‘pole position’ to sign the midfielder at the end of the season.

Despite Forest’s struggles this year, Gibbs-White has excelled and has four goals and five assists to his name (Transfermarkt).

Now, a new report from sources at Football Insider has named Gibbs-White as the top priority for Spurs heading into the summer market, and finding a new striker is also high up on their wishlist.

It is thought Tottenham are “eager to bolster their attack” this summer, and have subsequently “shortlisted” Gibbs-White.

There is a belief that Forest, who have recently dropped into the relegation zone after a points deduction, may be “forced to sell” top players to balance the books. This has “opened the door” for Tottenham to swoop and sign the English playmaker.

The signing of a new centre-forward has also been “prioritised” by Spurs.

Morgan Gibbs-White is a quality player, and the idea of him and James Maddison fighting it out for our number 10 role is very, very exciting. If Forest go down, we have to make that move. Even if they stay up, we should definitely test their resolve.
