Sky Sports have claimed that the breaking news this evening involves Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in signing Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey.
The 20-year-old is currently under contract at the Amex Stadium until 2025 and has not featured for the Seagulls since December due to a hamstring problem.
The injury limited the youngster to just 11 Premier League appearances last season and has since sought the advice of a specialist in a bid to rectify the problem (Sky Sports).
Tottenham are likely to be in the market for a right-sided defender this summer with Serge Aurier having already admitted that he does not intend to sign a new contract, with just twelve months to run on his current deal in North London while also expressing an interest in a return to PSG (L’Equipe).

Lamptey would provide the ability for a right-sided defender to ‘bomb on’ into the opposition half in a manner we have been desperately lacking since the departures of both Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker.
