Report: Sky reporter suggests Spurs midfielder could finally leave next month

Victor Wanyama’s time at Tottenham Hotspur could come to an end in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour has claimed that the Kenyan is a candidate to leave North London when the window opens tomorrow.

Wanyama was heavily linked with a summer exit when Belgian outfit Club Brugge were said to have agreed a £13.6million deal with Tottenham only for the deal to fail to be completed prior to the European window closing (BBC).

The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Tottenham behind the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Eric Dier and academy product Oliver Skipp.

The Standard claimed in August that Spurs are keen to offload the former Southampton player after a series of knee injuries have limited his ability to feature regularly.

Wanyama formed an impressive partnership with Mousa Dembele during his first season at the club until he started to struggle with injury.
