It is explained that the new Spurs head coach has no more than four meetings in a week which are typically 15 to 20 minutes long, compared to the daily ones that Conte had, which could last up to an hour.

Training sessions are also said to be shorted under Postecoglou, with less focus on running and tactical drills, with more varied excesses, including intense small-sided games.

Postecoglou team talks are getting the job done

Another big difference between him and Conte is said to be their communication styles, with The Athletic revealing that some at the club say that the Australian’s team talks are the best they have heard.

The report reveals that many at Hotspur Way praise Postecoglou for his ability to deliver ‘tactical messages with clarity and authority’ while also being able to connect emotionally with the players.

The publication adds that unlike Conte, who was quite volatile and ‘up-and-down’, the new Tottenham boss remains on an even keel and does not get too high or too low.

Whatever one thinks of how Postecoglou compares tactically with Conte, it is already quite evident that the Australian’s leadership skills and his emotional IQ are a notch or two higher than the Italian’s.
