Report: Some of the European talent who are out of contract this summer

With the January transfer window now underway, Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with numerous stars from across the various European leagues.

Although Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho has reiterated that he is happy to work with the squad he has at his disposal (Sky Sports), the lilywhites are continuing to be linked with multiple additions in January (Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports).

While some of the players who have been linked with the club are likely to cost a considerable amount, there are also several stars from across Europe who will soon be free agents and could represent somewhat of a bargain for their next employer.

According to talkSPORT, here’s a list of players who are out of contract in the summer and are free to begin talks with other clubs this month:

Willian (Chelsea)

Olivier Giroud (Chelsea)

Adam Lallana (Liverpool)

David Silva (Manchester City)

Fernandinho (Manchester City)

Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth)

Dries Mertens (Napoli)

Jose Callejon (Napoli)

Thomas Meunier (PSG)

While most players in that list are getting on in terms of their age, there are a few who could make decent additions to the squad. Ryan Fraser can potentially help bring more creativity in our midfield while Dries Mertes can be astute short term signing particularly given Kane’s recent injury. Meunier will also improve the squad as Aurier seems to have no real competition for his place.
