Report: Some Spurs players like the sound of this manager replacing Conte

Sky Sports News have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino will accept the Tottenham Hotspur job if he is approached by the club.

Unsurprisingly, Pochettino is thought to be one of the names that Spurs are considering to replace Antonio Conte at the helm.

However, some outlets like The Athletic have claimed over recent weeks that the Argentine might not be favoured by Fabio Paratici, who has been entrusted with the task of compiling a list of coaches to take over in N17.

The Guardian reported on Monday that one problem Spurs will face in rehiring Pochettino is that the 51-year-old would want to wait until pre-season to take any job.

However, Sky Sports now assert that the Argentine is ready to complete a fairytale return to Hotspur Way should the club come calling.

The report says that Pochettino is the man that many Tottenham players want to be the club’s next head coach and that several among the squad have already reached out to their former manager regarding a return to the club.

Sky Sports add that, as things stand, Pochettino is expected to assess all his options in the summer before making a decision.

Spurs Web Opinion

It does not seem like the Tottenham board are unanimous in wanting Pochettino back and I understand their concerns as it is debatable if the Argentine is still at the peak of his powers.

However, I suspect that the 51-year-old is still the candidate that Daniel Levy would prefer over any other.
