Report: Son will shave his head for military training – But there is good news for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur announced earlier this month that Heung-min Son would be returning home to South Korea in order to complete four weeks of mandatory military service.

The winger was due to serve almost two years of service before he and his teammates won the 2018 Asian Games gold medal, handing themselves exemption (Guardian).

However, this four week period must still be carried out and it has been decided that Son can do it while the Premier League is suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Athletic have now reported that Heung-min Son will have to shave his head for the service, as well as sharing a bedroom with up to 15 others.

However, there is some good news for Tottenham and their player, as the report adds that Son will be well looked after and will have the opportunity to sit certain events out if he feels in discomfort.

Son has not featured for Spurs since February when he fractured his arm against Aston Villa, an injury that required surgery to fix.
