Report: Source close to Nagelsmann believes Spurs job is ‘a perfect match’

ESPN journalist, Archie Rhind-Tutt, has claimed that Julian Nagelsmann would be tempted by a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Multiple reports (Telegraph, Daily Mail, Guardian) have indicated that Nagelsmann is Tottenham’s number one choice to replace Mourinho at the helm but the North Londoners are said to be concerned that Bayern Munich could swoop for the RB Leipzig boss.

The Evening Standard revealed this week that Spurs believe they can beat Bayern to Nagelsmann’s signature as the German coach is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Rhind-Tutt has now claimed that Nagelsmann has an affinity to Tottenham, having previously had “an active interest” in Spurs as a fan of the club.

Sources close to the 33-year-old have reportedly said that the Tottenham job could be the ‘perfect match’ for the up-and-coming young coach.

The journalist also added that the challenge at Spurs could be more tempting for Nagelsmann than the one at Bayern, where he would be expected to win every trophy.

Rhind-Tutt suggests that the Leipzig boss could get another opportunity to go to the Allianz Arena in the future but a door into the Premier League may not open too often.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think it would be a straightforward choice for Nagelsmann between Bayern and Spurs. While Bayern are a bigger club, the reality is that there is not much that Nagelsmann could do at the Allianz Arena to enhance his reputation since the Bundesliga giants have won nine straight titles.

If the 33-year-old can make Spurs competitive in the Premier League and the Champions League once again, his reputation would be bolstered further and he could have the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona after him in 3 or 4 years.
