Report: Sources claim Spurs will have two new signings in the next 48 hours

According to sources at Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur expect the double signing of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin to be completed within 48 hours, kickstarting a productive transfer window for the club.

For a long time now, it has been apparent that Spurs would be looking to add a new centre-half to their squad as a priority this month, with Radu Dragusin earmarked as one of the top targets in that position (Telegraph).

It may be early days in the transfer window, but with a slew of injuries in Ange Postecoglou‘s squad, many Spurs fans had hoped the signing of Dragusin would be completed by now. However, competition from other clubs and discussions over a transfer fee have complicated matters.

Funnily enough, while all the attention was on the search for a defender, Spurs moved quickly and discretely to negotiate a loan deal for German winger, Timo Werner. The player arrived in North London yesterday to begin finalising the switch (Alasdair Gold).

Spurs double swoop to be complete soon

It is exciting times for Tottenham right now, with transfer activity in the January transfer window moving quickly compared to the more sluggish efforts of previous years. And, according to Football Insider, the next 48 hours will be very busy indeed.

The report claims Dragusin is “primed to pack his bags” and head to London to complete a medical and sign his contract, with a “full agreement” between Spurs and Genoa thought to be close after a “breakthrough” in negotiations.

Werner, meanwhile, is a little closer, with his medical starting yesterday. Spurs are now “confident” they can wrap up both moves in the next day or two.

This kind of swift movement in the transfer market is exactly how things need to be done from now on. We can’t waste time stewing over things and haggling over a couple of million for players. If Ange Postecoglou wants someone, he should be trusted, and that’s what we appear to be seeing so far this month.
