Report: Sources say Spurs may be about to U-turn on striker in January

Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur have run out of patience with Richarlison, and would be willing to sell the striker in the January transfer market should a suitable offer come in from Saudi Arabia.

Richarlison signed for Tottenham from Everton last summer for a huge £60m (Sky Sports), but 18 months later, has still failed to make the desired impact at the club.

Last season, the Brazilian struggled under Antonio Conte, scoring just three goals all season. Two of those goals came in the first game of the Champions League group stages in September, and he had to wait until the end of April to get his first Premier League goal (Transfermarkt).

This year, with Harry Kane departing the club in the summer, many suspected Richarlison could play a more prominent role and finally fulfil his potential at Spurs. Sadly, that has not been the case.

The 26-year-old has scored two goals this season (Transfermarkt), but continues to miss golden opportunities that are costing the team.

Richarlison’s move to Saudi Arabia could be on

It has previously been suggested that clubs in Saudi Arabia would be interested in Richarlison, and that he would be tempted by the switch (UOL). However, it was thought Spurs were unwilling to sell.

Now, that’s all changed, with Football Insider claiming the North London club would “now consider selling” Richarlison as he has failed to “settle in.”

There is thought to be “heavy interest” in Richarlison, and Spurs could now look to “cash in” and use the funds to “boost their own transfer budget” in January to help Ange Postecoglou achieve success.

I think I’ve just about reached the end of my patience with Richarlison, too. I know he’s not fully fit, but that’s no excuse for the chance he missed against West Ham, and he just seems to go missing in games far too often. We could get a lot of money for him, which could be spent on a much better player.
