Report: Spanish club reject £51m bid from unnamed PL side – Spurs were linked

Sport have revealed that an unnamed Premier League side have failed with a £51.2m move for Tottenham target Raphinha.

Raphinha has not been a regular in Barcelona’s starting eleven this season and it has been widely reported over the last few months that the winger may be sacrificed by the Catalan club this summer, given their financial predicament (Football Insider).

Tottenham are thought to be one of the clubs interested in him, with some Spanish outlets even suggesting over recent weeks that the Lilywhites have already contacted the 27-year-old about a summer move (Relovo).

Barcelona reject offer for Spurs-linked Raphinha

However, Sport point out that the Brazilian has won his place back in the team over recent weeks and has delivered some decisive contributions in La Liga as well as the Champions League.

The Nou Camp hierarchy are said to be ‘very happy’ with the former Leeds man’s performances and have now allegedly decided that they will not sell him for less than €80m (£68.3m).

In fact, it is asserted that the Catalan club recently received an offer of €60m (£51.2m) from an unnamed Premier League side and decided to send back the proposal.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Raphinha being proven in the Premier League and also seemingly on the radar of Saudi Arabian clubs, one can understand why Barca feel that they can hold out for nearly £70m.

However, I do not see Spurs shopping for the 27-year-old at that price, especially when there are cheaper options like Nico Williams available.
