Report: Spanish news outlet reveals how far down Eriksen is on Madrid’s shopping list

Christian Eriksen took many by surprise with the timing of his comments just days after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool when he revealed that he wanted to leave North London for a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

The playmaker revealed in his comments that he would be interested in a move to Real Madrid, but an offer had yet to be made.

Real Madrid have been active in this summer’s transfer market having already signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea with Zinedine Zidane looking to put last season’s disappointing campaign behind them by recruiting some of European football’s top talent.

Spanish news outlet Sport have claimed that Christian Eriksen is not a priority signing with Los Blancos instead looking to potentially bring in Kylian Mbappe from PSG and Paul Pogba from Manchester United.

Eriksen is viewed as ‘Plan C’ behind the French duo with the Spurs man potentially open to signing a contract extension if Madrid wait too long to try and bring him to the Bernabeu.

Opinion

It appears that Zidane has higher priorities than looking to complete a deal for Eriksen, who in turn will certainly be made to look foolish if a move fails to materialise and he signs a new deal at Spurs.
