Report: Spanish side stepping up their interest in £25m Spurs defender

Kieran Trippier could be on the move before the end of the transfer window.

The Tottenham Hotspur right-back is said to be on the radar of La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, who are keen to bring him to the Spanish capital ahead of the new season (The Sun).

Trippier has struggled with form and injury during the previous campaign which even saw the England international admit to the media that his performances have not been up to the standard that he expects of himself (Sky Sports).

The former Burnley man has been at fault for a number of high profile goals notably against Arsenal, Chelsea and away to Ajax in the Champions League semi final second leg.

Atletico have earmarked Trippier as a potential recruit along with PSG’s Thomas Meunier; the Spurs player is valued at around £25 million and is being considered as a long-term replacement for the 34-year-old JuanFran (The Sun).

Juventus are also said to be monitoring the situation and could make a move for Trippier if Joao Cancelo departs the Serie A side.
