Sporting Lisbon appear to have hinted that Pedro Porro may be close to joining Tottenham as David Ornstein reports they have contacted Brighton about signing a potential replacement.
The journalist claims that Sporting have made contact with Brighton about possibly signing Tariq Lamptey on loan as Porro is ‘getting closer’ to making the move to North London.
This came just moments before Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to announce that Tottenham are now ‘really close’ to completing a deal for Porro.
The Daily Mail had reported earlier in the day that Spurs were in a hurry to get the deal done today in case Chelsea made a last-minute attempt to hijack.
O Jogo also claimed that Spurs were set to pay the full €45m (£39.6m) that Sporting Lisbon want for their star man, but the Lilywhites will not trigger Porro’s release clause so they can pay the money in a different way (not all at once upfront).

Spurs Web Opinion:
It all seems to be falling into place at the moment. And there are still five days left of the transfer window, so who knows, there could still be time for another surprise. But, let’s get this one over the line first, please!
