Report: Spurs academy graduate now valued at £20m after leaving in 2018

The Sun have revealed that PSV Eindhoven have slapped a £20m price tag on former Tottenham winger Noni Madueke amidst interest from Leicester City and Crystal Palace.

Madueke was thought of very highly while coming through the ranks at Spurs, making his debut for the club’s Under-18s when he was just 15 years of age.

However, the winger rejected Tottenham’s contract offer and decided to join PSV Eindhoven in 2018 to get a clearer pathway into the first team.

His decision has proven to be the correct one in hindsight as the 19-year-old established himself as a regular in the Eredivisie giants’ starting eleven last season, finishing the campaign with 9 goals and 8 assists.

The Sun have now claimed that Madueke’s performances for PSV have attracted the attention of both Leicester and Palace, who are keen to bring the attacker back to the Premier League.

However, it is explained that PSV’s £20m asking price for the Spurs academy graduate is considered excessive by the Eagles and the Foxes.

Spurs Web Opinion

We have been unable to retain some promising young academy starlets over recent years such as Madueke, Marcus Edwards Luis Binks.

That shows the importance of creating a realistic pathway from the academy into the first-team as young English players are no longer hesitate to move abroad for regular first-team football.
