Report: Spurs accelerate interest in signing Dortmund star on loan to cover Kane injury

Tottenham Hotspur had a nightmare New Years Day match against Southampton at St Mary’s, losing the tie 1-0 on the day.

However, the loss extends far beyond the game, the week, or even the month, as Tottenham lost their main man Harry Kane to injury.

Spurs released an official statement today confirming that Kane had torn his left hamstring while turning the ball into the back of the net in the 75th minute.

The goal was ruled out for offside and Kane immediately hobble down the tunnel, later leaving the stadium on crutches.

This leaves Spurs with no senior out-and-out striker, with Moura and Son available to cover and Troy Parrott a very young and inexperienced option.

Transfer Podcast (relayed by Football London) have now claimed that Spurs will accelerate their interest in taking Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer on loan until the end of the season. This comes after Dortmund just signed the striker wonderkid Erling Haaland (BBC).
