Report: Spurs agree £150,000 per week terms with top target

Tottenham Hotspur’s first widely reported bid of the summer came in the form of a £53m offer for Real Betis playmaker, Giovani Lo Celso (BBC).

However, the bid was turned down by the Spanish club as they felt it was too far below the £88m release clause in Lo Celso’s contract.

Last month, Estadio Deportivio reported that the two clubs met in a restaurant in Spain to discuss a potential deal.

Sky Sports claimed earlier this month that talks had stalled between Betis and Spurs though, with valuation being the problem.

However, Estadio Deportivo have yet again reported that Spurs are still the main party interested in Lo Celso, and have been in talks for several weeks.

While a deal had yet to be agreed between the two clubs, the report does state that Tottenham have come to an agreement over Lo Celso’s personal terms.

Spurs are said to have offered the Argentine £150,000 per week to come and play in North London. There is said to be a mutual desire between Betis and Spurs to reach a deal.
