Report: Spurs agree to sign attacking midfielder on loan

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed to take Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid this summer, a player who would become the club’s third signing of the window.

Spurs announced the signings of both Jack Clarke from Leeds (BBC) and Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon (BBC) earlier this week.

AS now say that Spurs are negotiating a deal with Los Blancos for a Ceballos loan deal after agreeing to the move (as reported by Daily Star). Madrid are said to now want £54m for a permanent deal.

This comes after Pochettino apparently requested the transfer personally after being impressed with the 22-year-old’s ability.

Ceballos managed just 19 starts last season for Real Madrid across all competitions and is now looking for more first-team minutes.

The attacking midfielder was one of the shining stars for Spain at the U21 European Championships this summer, where they lifted the trophy as champions.

AS claim that Zidane has told Ceballos he will not start as many games as he wants next season.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would be over the moon with this signing. Ideally, Spurs will sign Ceballos on loan for a small fee, saving money this transfer window to spend elsewhere, but inserting an option-to-buy clause to get him next year if he performs well.
