Report: Spurs among clubs monitoring striker in final hours of the window

According to the Daily Record, Tottenham are among the clubs monitoring Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard as the summer transfer window draws to a close.

The forward is into the final year of his contract in Scotland, which is why he is being linked with a move ahead of deadline day.

Edouard is reportedly keen on a transfer to the Premier League, while Rubin Kazan are preparing an £18m bid for the goal scorer.

Fortunately for the Celtic man, plenty of clubs are said to be interested in him, including Everton, Brighton, and Crystal Palace. However, Tottenham are allegedly monitoring the situation.

The 23-year-old has scored 86 goals in 179 games for the Scottish giants, while also registering 39 assists during that time (TransferMarkt).

Tottenham currently only have one senior striker after Carlos Vinicius’ loan spell ended, leaving Harry Kane and Dane Scarlett as the main options for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If he was available for just £18m, this would be an incredible late deal to pull off. Spurs need a young striker who can play as a back-up/different option to Kane this season, while also representing a potential leading striker for the future. Edouard ticks all of those boxes.
