Report: Spurs among European clubs who ‘have advantage’ in race for midfielder

Tottenham are among a handful of European sides who have an advantage in the race for Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

The France international has entered the final year of his contract with the Bavarian outfit and could even depart the club on a free transfer come the end of the season.

Reports emerged that Tottenham, alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan, are all interested in pursuing a potential deal for the 27-year-old.

Gazzetta dello Sport now claim the former three teams currently have an advantage in securing a move for Tolisso over the two Italian clubs.

Tolisso has made 101 appearances for Bayern, recording 19 goals and 13 assists since joining the club from Lyon in 2017.

Although he has managed to secure 13 pieces of silverware with the side, much of his time in Germany has been hampered by a varying degree of injury problems.

He has made just five appearances in all competitions this season after being sidelined with a calf problem.

For a player of Tolisso’s quality to be available on a free transfer, it comes as no surprise for so many top European sides to be interested in acquiring him.

The concerns of him staying fit still remain, though, but if he can put together an injury-free run of form, he will be a very good option in midfield for any side.
