Report: Spurs among five clubs interested in 26-year-old centre-back

CMW.it have revealed that the race for Kim Min-Jae is now heating up, with Tottenham facing competition from Premier League rivals as well as from the Serie A for the Napoli star.

Kim has made an exceptional start to life in Serie A and his solid displays at the back have been one of the key reasons why Napoli sit eight points clear at the top of the table.

The South Korean was rumoured to be of interest to Spurs in the summer (AreaNapoli) and CalcioMercato reported earlier this month that several Premier League clubs are continuing to keep a close eye on the player.

Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed a few days ago that there is a release clause on Kim’s contract that will become active for 15 days during next summer’s transfer window, and he admitted that the club are contemplating offering the defender a new contract (Fabrizio Romano).

CMW.it have now revealed that Spurs, Fulham, Manchester United and Brighton hold a ‘concrete interest’ in the 26-year-old while Juventus are also ‘carefully monitoring’ the centre-back’s situation.

The report adds that Napoli value Kim at around €45m-€50m (£39.1m-£43.4), but as things stand, the club’s owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has ‘no intention’ of selling the former Fenerbahce man in January.

The fact that Kim’s entourage have inserted a release clause for next summer in his contract, suggests that the player views Napoli as a stepping stone for a potential move to the Premier League.

If he does not sign a new deal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, there is no doubt there will be a long queue of clubs vying for his signature next summer.
