Report: Spurs among five Premier League clubs interested in £14m-rated Championship starlet

Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs said to be holding an interest in Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson, according to the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old has cemented a place in the Forest fold after a stellar spell on loan at Lincoln last season, which yielded an impressive 13 goals and 14 assists in total for the Imps in all competitions.

Playing primarily on either wing this season, Johnson has tallied five goals and assists each to lift Steve Cooper’s side into ninth heading into the second half of the Championship campaign.

The performances of Johnson have not gone unnoticed from sides in the Premier League, with the Daily Mail claiming five clubs in England’s top division are keeping tabs on the Forest youngster.

The report states Tottenham, Brentford, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham are all monitoring the situation of the Welsh international, who is valued at around £14 million.

However, it is added that Forest are keen to keep hold of Johnson for their play-off ambitions this season, but would be tempted into a sale if a ‘sizeable bid’ is presented to them.

This looks to be one to keep an eye on as he appears to be someone that is continuing to grow into a solid attack-minded player. The Championship is a really good place to look for talent and usually at a modest price, Spurs should continue to monitor Johnson’s progress going forward.
