Report: Spurs among Premier League clubs interested in Serie A forward

AS Roma’s Patrik Schick could be heading for the Premier League this summer, according to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Tottenham, Everton and Newcastle United are all reported to have an interest in the centre forward who has impressed during his loan spell at RB Leipzig.

Leipzig had the option to make Schick’s stay in Germany permanent, however, that expired earlier this month and the 24-year-old is now set to return to Roma.

Die Roten Bullen could have secured Schick’s services for £21.5m, but it is said the German side are not looking to spend that type of money this summer.

The Czech international has spent this season on loan at the Bundesliga outfit and has featured frequently off the bench (Transfermarkt).

Schick has featured 20 times in the Bundesliga – only starting in 10 matches and has netted on 10 occasions for Leipzig.

The report suggests he is not Newcastle’s number one target and Spurs have enquired about the 24-year-old as a potential back-up to Harry Kane.

Spurs Web Opinion

Schick has played second fiddle to Timo Werner at Leipzig, so if he was willing to do so at Spurs it could make a great signing. He has shown this season at Leipzig he can score a decent amount of goals despite not being the number one centre forward and is unlikely to cost an arm and a leg.
