Report: Spurs among Premier League trio keen on landing central defender

According to a report by Sky Sports, Tottenham are among the clubs who are said to be tracking the progress of Brighton centre half Ben White, who is currently on a season-long loan at Leeds United.

The 22-year-old central defender has been extremely impressive during the loan spell having featured in every game for the Championship side this term (transfermarkt.com).

His performances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side have reportedly brought him to the attention of a number Premier League clubs with Chelsea and Liverpool also said to be keen on him.

It is claimed that Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool have all sent scouts to watch the youngster in action for Leeds recently and have been left impressed with what they have seen.

The report alleges that the Reds are unlikely to follow up their interest this month, making Chelsea and Spurs the favourites for his signature.

The Daily Mail also linked the Lilywhites with a move for the young central defender last month.

Spurs Web Opinion

I liked what I’ve seen of White this season as has shown that he not only has the combativeness required to play in a physical league like the Championship but he is also quite adept at playing the ball out of defence. However, I am not convinced he is any better than Foyth and I believe we need an experienced centre half who is proven at the top level.
