Report: Spurs among six PL clubs interested in South American right-back

According to Planet Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are among several Premier League clubs showing interest in Peruvian starlet Jhilmar Lora.

Tottenham were unable to sign a right wing-back in January, with the club’s top target Adama Traore snubbing the club’s approach in favour of a return to Barcelona (The Atheltic).

The North London club expected to prioritise strengthening the area in the summer, with the likes of Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey (Evening Standard) and Middlesbrough Djed Spence (90 min) thought to be on their radar.

If Planet Sport’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs also have their eye on Lora, who has won several admirers since breaking into Sporting Cristal’s starting lineup.

The 21-year-old has also established himself as a regular for Peru and impressed during Copa America last summer.

Planet Sport claim that the likes of Arsenal, Brentford, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Everton are also tracking Lora ahead of the summer transfer window.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Spurs look to strengthen both their wing-back areas in the summer, given how crucial the roles are in Conte’s system. I would expect Emerson to be moved on as the Brazilian simply does not offer enough going forward in wing-back role.
