Goal.com have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko ahead of the summer transfer window.
Sesko is the latest young striker to come through the Salzburg production line, with the striker already being compared to Erling Haaland, who has gone on to become a superstar since leaving Salzburg for Borussia Dortmund (FootballTransfers).
The youngster has shown plenty of promise after breaking into Matthias Jaissle’s first-team but is yet to establish himself as a regular in the starting eleven, coming off the bench for the majority of his 16 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga this season (Transfermarkt).
However, the 18-year-old is certainly highly thought of, with Goal ranking him ninth on their NXGN 2022 list of the best wonderkids in the world.
Bild reported last month that Spurs had their eye on the teenager ahead of the summer transfer window. This has now been backed up by Goal, who add that the North Londoners are monitoring Sesko’s progress this season.
However, the report adds that Antonio Conte’s men could face competition from the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund for the centre-forward.
Spurs Web Opinion
Sesko is a modern-day striker who is very much in the Kane mould, not only being capable of finding the back of the net but also adept at dropping deep and creating.
Despite the teenager being very much a raw talent rather than a finished product, one would expect clubs across Europe to be lining up to sign him this summer.
