Report: Spurs among the clubs who could look to sign Gareth Bale this summer

Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs which could look to sign Gareth Bale this summer, according to Spanish news outlet Sport.

The 32-year-old will be out of contract at Real Madrid at the end of the season with manager Carlo Ancelotti all but confirming the Welshman will leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer (Sky Sports).

The report claims that a move to the MLS, AC Milan, Glasgow Rangers or even his hometown club of Cardiff City could also be potential destinations for Bale’s next club.

Bale is said to be already reviewing his options ahead of his contract expiring with his aim of staying in peak physical fitness ahead of Wales’ potential involvement at the World Cup in November.

Wales booked their place in the World Cup play-off final having beaten Austria in Cardiff last month and are set to play Scotland or Ukraine for a place in Qatar.

Bale made a remarkable return to north London last season on loan but saw his game time limited under the management of Jose Mourinho.

Depending on what Bale’s intentions are if Wales qualify for the World Cup and whether he intends to hang up his boots afterwards, a six-month deal at the very least could prove to be of massive benefit to the club and the player.

If however, he intends to play on for longer, a move to the MLS and the chance to experience life in the States could prove to be more of a lure.
