Report: Spurs and 10 other European clubs eyeing up move for £20m midfielder

According to a report in 90min.com, Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs in the Premier League and around Europe who have their eyes on Hungarian wonderkid Dominik Szoboszlai.

Szoboszlai is now the toast of many top clubs around Europe as the 20-year-old has started this season on blistering form for Red Bull Salzburg.

His brilliant goal last week, which sent Hungary through to next summer’s European championship at the expense of Iceland, has certainly done his reputation no harm.

Spurs were linked with a move for the versatile youngster during the summer (Alessandro Jacobone via Football Fancast) after he notched up 12 goals and 18 assists for Salzburg in all competitions last campaign (transfermarkt.com).

90 min reveal that the Lilywhites are continuing to monitor the attacking midfielder but now face competition from Liverpool, Manchester United, Wolves, Leicester and Everton, who are also keen.

Several clubs from across the continent including the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be eyeing a move for Szoboszlai.

However, the growing interest in the Hungarian international will not drive his price up as the report claims that his release clause sits at little over £20m.

So the race for Szoboszlai’s signature might come down to who can convince the youngster that they would provide the ideal platform for him to continue his development.
