Report: Spurs and AC Milan prefer different Piatek deals this month as talks continue

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for AC Milan’s Kryzysztof Piatek this month as Sky Sports report that the two clubs remain in talks over a transfer (Transfer Centre at 14:44 on 28/01/20).

This comes as Harry Kane ruptured his left hamstring tendon in a match against Southampton on New Years Day, almost exactly one month ago.

However, Spurs have still not yet managed to sign a replacement for the England captain, who is thought to be out until early April when he could return to training.

After selling Vincent Janssen and releasing Fernando Llorente in the summer, Spurs have no fit senior strikers left at the club to fill Kane’s shoes. Troy Parrott remains the only other like-for-like option, but he is still an inexperienced 17-year-old.

Sky Sports claim that Tottenham want to take Piatek on an 18-month loan period, while AC Milan prefer a permanent sale of their centre-forward. It remains to be seen whether a compromise can be reached.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Get this deal done and it has been a superb transfer window. Spurs need that focal point in attack without Kane, and by investing money now, Levy could rake even more in with Champions League qualification.
