Report: Spurs and Arsenal among nine clubs interested in Argentine starlet

According to Marca, Spurs are competing with a host of European clubs to secure a potential summer transfer of Racing Club’s Carlos Alcaraz.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season with Argentinian club Racing Club de Allevaneda, notching five goals and two assists in 17 appearances thus far (TransferMarket).

With the versatility to play a multitude of positions in midfield and attack, Alcaraz would likely prove a useful squad player for Antonio Conte.

Racing have the youngster contracted until 2026, however, his £21.25 million release clause means an imminent move is possible (Marca).

Marca also suggest that Spurs face competition for his signature from North London rivals Arsenal, as well as Atlético, Sevilla, Juventus, Inter, AC Milan, Wolves, and PSV.

Although this does not fit the ready-made player mould that Conte allegedly wants Spurs to target this summer (Football.London), it could represent an exciting opportunity to secure a talented player for a cut-price fee.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is safe to say that Fabio Paratici’s work in the transfer market is beginning to bear fruit for Spurs. With Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Cristian Romero all consistently performing in the Lilywhites’ quest for fourth place, there is no reason to hastily cut the Serie A ties.

But, with South American football consistently producing talent, much of which goes under the radar, there is no reason why a youngster such as Alcaraz can’t continue his development in a Premier League squad.
