Report: Spurs and Arsenal competing for PL midfielder rated at £22m

According to a report from Jeunes Footeux, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Sheffield United midfielder, Sander Berge in the summer transfer window.

Berge has reportedly been a long-term target for Tottenham, linked with a move to the club as far back as 2018.

The midfielder left Genk to join Sheffield United in January of last year and has adapted well to the Premier League. However, the Blades are having a torrid season and now look destined to be relegated to the Championship.

Jeunes Footeux claim that if Chris Wilder’s side do go down, Berge will be one of the players to leave Bramall Lane in the summer.

The report reveals that Spurs face competition from their North London rivals, Arsenal, for the 23-year-old’s signature.

It is suggested that the Blades will demand around €26m (£22.2m) for the Norway international, who is contracted to the club until 2024, should they get relegated.

Reports indicate that Mourinho has mapped out a first-team role for Oliver Skipp next season when he returns from his loan spell at Norwich. So, if we are in for another central midfielder, that would suggest that both Sissoko and Winks are likely to leave the club in the summer.
