According to a report in 90 min, Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head with Arsenal in the battle to secure the signing of Nice defender Youcef Atal.
The report claims that several clubs from Italy, Germany, and Spain are interested in the defender, but it is the two North London clubs that are said to be leading the race for his signature.
Both Spurs and Arsenal are said to be keen to add him to their squad to bolster their defensive options and it is suggested that both clubs could bid for the 23-year-old in the January transfer window.
The Ligue 1 star was also linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer (Football.London) but a transfer never materialised in the end.
Spurs have had their fair share of problems at full-back since the start of the campaign. However, Aurier has produced two excellent displays since Mourinho’s arrival, thus staking his claim for the right-back slot.

Serge Aurier has certainly looked like a completely different player under Mourinho. However, the Ivorian needs to sustain his form for a while if he is to convince Jose that he is the man to start week in, week out. I am still hopeful that Juan Foyth can shine in the position if given opportunities.
