Report: Spurs and Arsenal to go head to head for Brazilian teenager

According to a report in AS, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Fluminense’s teenage sensation Miguel Silveira, but face competition for the youngster from their North London rivals Arsenal.

The 16-year-old is enjoying a fantastic breakthrough season at Fluminense, and his performances have reportedly caught the attention of the Premier League duo.

The report claims that Real Madrid are also tracking the teenager’s progress, along with Spurs and Arsenal, but it is the Gunners who are said to be leading the race for his signature.

Mikel Arteta’s side have reportedly sent representatives to Brazil on multiple occasions to watch the attacking midfielder in action and have also met with his family as they hope to beat Tottenham to his signature.

Silveira is said to have signed his first professional contract with Fluminense just last summer, which reportedly contains a release clause of £30.3 million.
