Report: Spurs and Arsenal would now only have to pay £30m for transfer target

Vamos Cruz Azul have claimed that Feyenoord would be ready to sell Tottenham target Santiago Gimenez for a cut-price fee this summer.

Gimenez has been finding the back of the net with astonishing regularity in Rotterdam over the past two years and it looks inevitable that the centre-forward would make the step up to a bigger club this summer.

Over the last few weeks, various outlets have continued to suggest that the 23-year-old is valued at around £60m and that Tottenham have identified him as the man to fill the void left by Harry Kane (CaughtOffside).

Just a few days ago, it emerged that the Lilywhites could face competition for the striker’s signature from their North London rivals, Arsenal, who are also thought to be admirers of the Mexican (Rudy Galetti).

Santiago Gimenez asking price drops

Vamos Cruz Azul have now also reported on the interest of both Tottenham and Arsenal in Gimenez and suggest that the striker looks to be Premier League-bound this summer.

Interestingly, the publication adds that even though the marksman has three years left on his contract at De Kuip, Arne Slot’s men would be willing to accept just £30m for him this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Gimenez’s form has dropped off a bit during the second half of this season but I doubt Feyenoord would settle for £30m for their talisman. They would look to get a bidding war going for the 23-year-old and sell him for a fee of around £40m-£50m.
