Report: Spurs and Chelsea in race to sign centre-forward with expiring contract

Tottenham Hotspur are certainly not short of up-and-coming striker talent within their academy, with the likes of Troy Parrott and Kion Etete waiting in the wings.

However, the North London side have reportedly now joined the race for young Stoke City centre-forward, Mohamed Sankoh, this summer.

Football Insider claim that Everton, Celtic, Tottenham, and Chelsea are all interested in signing the 16-year-old from the Championship club. The report claims that a Spurs source has revealed the club are ‘keeping close tabs’ on Sankoh.

The youngster’s youth contract is said to be expiring in the near future, with the player having his heart set on a move to an elite club.

The report adds that Sankoh has scored nine goals and assisted another nine for the Stoke City U18 side this season. He has also already been capped by Holland at U17 level.

If Stoke fail to agree a new deal with him before his youth contract expires in June, Sankoh will leave on a free this summer.
