Report: Spurs and Chelsea in the hunt for summer signing of English goalkeeper

Tottenham Hotspur have had some problems between the sticks of late, both with Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm in goal.

The Dutchman flapped a shot back into the box to gift Norwich City an equaliser in the FA Cup fifth-round tie earlier this month, a game Spurs went on to lose on penalties.

Hugo Lloris then came back in against Burnley and gave Chris Wood a very similar tap in after failing to hold onto a shot.

The French World Cup-winning captain would have also felt he could have done better against RB Leipzig’s first two goals in Germany on Tuesday night.

Michel Vorm is set to leave Spurs on a free when his contract expires in the summer, leaving the club with just Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga as senior options.

The Daily Mail have now reported that the Lilywhites are in the hunt for English shot-stopper, Aaron Ramsdale, in the summer.

The report claims that Jose Mourinho is considering replacing his number one, Lloris, at the end of this season, with the Frenchman now 33-years of age.

21-year-old Ramsdale seems to be an option for Tottenham, but they may have to fight London rivals, Chelsea, for his signature.
