Report: Spurs and Everton could discuss swap deal

Tottenham Hotspur could be in the market for a new centre back this summer, with the future of Toby Alderweireld in doubt.

Alderweireld is available for clubs to purchase for just £25m this summer after Spurs activated a clause in his contract by extending the deal by an extra year.

The only hope at the moment is that the Belgian may be keen on seeing out his last full season in the new stadium before leaving on a free.

However, if he is to leave, Tottenham will need a replacement, and Everton’s Michael Keane has been tipped to be that man (Daily Mail).

Everton have also been linked with a move for Spurs and England right back Kieran Trippier (Sun), and HITC believe that a swap deal could be on the table.

In today’s market Keane would surely be worth a lot more than Trippier, but a cash plus player deal could in theory work in favour for both teams.
