Report: Spurs and every other ‘big six’ club are in contact with same defender

90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs who are circling Milan Skriniar as Inter Milan have been unsuccessful in their attempts to get the centre-back to sign a new deal.

Reports from Italy over recent days have indicated that Antonio Conte is intent on strengthening Tottenham’s defence in January and backed the North London club to make a move for Stefan de Vrij (CMW.it).

90 min have now claimed that Spurs are also eyeing another Inter defender in the form of Skriniar, whose current deal at the San Siro runs out at the end of the season.

It is explained that the Nerazzurri hoped to agree on a new deal with the 27-year-old by November 13 but talks have proven to be unfruitful so far.

Tottenham are not the only club to take notice of the centre-back’s situation, with the other five ‘big six’ clubs also thought to be monitoring the player.

90 min add that Inter’s talks with Skriniar over a new contract have not yet collapsed but there is now an ‘awareness’ at the Serie A club that interested parties are readying moves for the defender.

The report adds that all of the ‘big six’ remain in contact with the former Sampdoria star but Simone Inzaghi’s men remain determined to keep him at the club beyond the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

I expect Tottenham to move on Sanchez and Tanganga in January and bring in a new right centre-back. Skriniar would fit the bill perfectly as he is well-versed with Conte’s system. If the 27-year-old does not sign a new contract before January, I expect Spurs to test the waters with an offer.
