Report: Spurs and five Premier League rivals all looking at same Fulham star

The Sun have reported that Tottenham and five of their Premier League rivals are all monitoring Fulham star midfielder, Joao Palhinha, this summer.

The interested parties are named as Spurs, Man United, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal, all of whom are keeping an eye on the Portuguese star.

Despite all of this reported interest, Fulham boss Marco Silva is said to be determined to keep the midfielder at the London club.

Fulham only signed Palhinha from Sporting Lisbon last year and paid £17m to get him through the door, although The Sun suggest that price tag would now be £40m-plus.

The Cottagers are in a strong negotiating position, having tied Palhinha down to a five-year contract when he first joined the club in 2022, with an option to extend by another.

However, the midfielder is 28 in July, so it remains to be seen whether clubs are willing to splash big money on him over younger targets.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Palhinha would be a fantastic signing, but I suspect it will be one of those cases where he is more valuable to Fulham than anyone, so his price will be too high to make it worth it.

I want to see Spurs splash that kind of money on James Maddison instead.
