Report: Spurs and Man United are waiting in the wings to try and hijack transfer

Mundo Deportivo have revealed that Athletico Paranaense have issued an ultimatum to Barcelona to send the documents to sign Vitor Roque quickly if they do not want to lose the striker to the likes of Tottenham.

The report explains that Roque, who has found the back of the net 15 times and provided six assists in 30 appearances across all competitions this season (Transfermarkt), is on the radar of several clubs, including Spurs.

It was Barca who allegedly struck a ‘pre-agreement’ with Paranaense for the 18-year-old, agreeing to pay an initial €30m (£25.6m) plus €20m (£17m) in add-ons.

However, it is explained that the Catalan giants are yet to send over the documents for the transfer, with the Brazilian side now said to be losing patience.

Spurs and Man Utd waiting in the wings for Roque

The Paranaense sporting director Alexandre Mattos is now said to have issued an ultimatum to Barca, claiming that they will consider other proposals on the table for Roque if the documents of the transfer are not sent in the next 24 hours.

The report states that the other proposals are from Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, with all three clubs said to be willing to offer ‘better guarantees’ than the La Liga giants for the Brazilian starlet.

Given the current mess Barca are in, it is certainly possible that they fail to send over the documents in time as they have been unable to shift some of their deadwood as quickly as they wanted.

That could open the door for Tottenham to swoop for Roque but the Catalan club would be hoping that the teenager already has his heart set on a move to Camp Nou and pushes for the move.
