Report: Spurs and Man United have ‘carried out polls’ on La Liga player

TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that Valencia value rumoured Tottenham target Giorgi Mamardashvili at around €25m-€30m (£21.45-£25.7m).

Marca were the first to report back in the summer that Tottenham were keen on snapping up Mamardashvili. The report suggested that the goalkeeper was also on the radar of Manchester United but in the end, the 22-year-old stayed put at the Mestalla.

The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (20/10/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) revealed two weeks ago that Juventus had also entered the race for Valencia number one.

TMW have now backed up the claim about all three of the aforementioned clubs being interested in Mamardashvili and elaborated further on the goalkeeper’s future.

The report states that both Spurs and Man Utd have ‘carried out polls’ about the Georgian international, with the two clubs said to be eyeing him as a replacement for Hugo Lloris and David De Gea respectively.

It is explained that Mamardashvili is also one of several names on Juve’s radar, with Massimiliano Allegri’s men said to be on the lookout for Wojciech Szczesny’s successor.

TMW state that for the moment, Valencia consider the 22-year-old, whose current contract at the Mestalla runs until 2027, to be ‘non-transferable’.

The report adds that even though Mamardashvili has a release clause worth around €100m (£85.8m), the La Liga club value him at around €25m-€30m (£21.45-£25.7m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Mamardashvili is not only decent with the ball at his feet and a good shot-stopper, but he has shown to have excellent composure in his decision-making for such a young goalkeeper.

It does not come as a surprise that he is on the radar of many top clubs. If he maintains his current form, I see his value rising much higher than the reported £25m.
