Report: Spurs and Man Utd have their eyes on £37m-rated Brazilian wonderkid

Globo Esporte have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs showing interest in Athletico Paranense starlet, Vitor Roque, ahead of the summer transfer window.

Roque made quite an impression in his breakthrough season at Paranense last campaign and the centre-forward has started off the new season in electric form, having found the back of the net four times in five league games (Transfermarkt).

Globo Esporte have claimed that the youngster’s performances have turned quite a lot of heads in Europe, with clubs from England and Spain having sent scouts to watch him in action this season.

Tottenham are named as one of the clubs who are eyeing a move for Roque but the North London club are expected to face plenty of competition for the striker’s signature.

Barcelona, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and West Ham United are also credited with an interest in the player.

The report adds that given the interest the youngster is generating, Paranense hope to make around €42m (£36.8m) from his sale this summer.

The publication also asserts that two English clubs have promised to make offers for Roque in the summer but there are no details regarding who those clubs are.

Spurs Web Opinion

Roque seems very much like a Paratici target, with the Italian frequently signing players from South American football during his time in charge of Juventus.

However, with the 50-year-old’s future at Spurs now looking in major doubt, the club might have to recalibrate their summer transfer targets.
