Report: Spurs and Man Utd send scouts to watch same striker as he scores hat-trick

A report from 90 Min claims Tottenham Hotspur scouts were in attendance as Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko scored a hat-trick at the weekend.

Sesko currently plies his trade for Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, where he has amassed 22 goals and ten assists in 68 appearances (Transfermarkt).

This season alone, the 19-year-old has 11 goals to his name and continues to impress at club level (Transfermarkt).

The wonderkid is regarded as one of the top talents in Europe, and already has his next move arranged.

Sesko will join fellow Red Bull side, Leipzig, in the summer and has agreed a five-year deal with the German team (The Athletic).

That isn’t stopping anyone from keeping an eye on the Slovenian international, though.

Leipzig may be a club with a growing reputation, but they are still a club that generally ends up selling players to bigger teams, as we’ve seen with Christopher Nkunku’s impending move to Chelsea (Eurosport).

Now it appears Tottenham Hotspur are among those monitoring Sesko despite his upcoming switch to the Bundesliga.

The latest report from 90 Min claims Spurs scouts were joined by representatives from Manchester United and West Ham for Sesko’s recent performance.

Sesko was on top form as he bagged a hat-trick against Rapid Vienna over the weekend, and his exploits there will have done his reputation no harm in front of the spectators from the Premier League.

While the report underlines the fact that Sesko will not be moving on from Leipzig any time soon, it is thought clubs are already sniffing around with a view to providing the talented youngster with his next destination on the footballing ladder.

It’s a shame we can’t bring Sesko in sooner, but it can’t hurt to be keeping a close eye on his development with a view to a move in the future.

He’s a top talent and exactly the kind of player we will need in a few years when Kane and Son need replacing.
