There is hope that the 23-year-old will now complete his move to North London before the transfer window closes tomorrow at 5pm.
Lo Celso has been one of Mauricio Pochettino’s top targets for the majority of the summer, but Real Betis have been holding out for a fee of around £65million (Telegraph).
Lo Celso hails from the same region of Argentina as Pochettino and would help to add another dimension to Tottenham’s attack, especially with doubts over Christian Eriksen’s future at the club.
He scored 16 goals last season for Betis after making a loan move from Paris Saint-Germain, which became permanent earlier this year (The Sun).
If he puts pen to paper on a deal he will become the third player to move to Spuds this summer, following Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele through the door at Hotspur Way.
